Flip Flop Flying

Today on Flip Flop Flyin’: the last episode of the much-neglected-by-me Ralf series. I dunno if this is interesting to you, but I kinda see the ending of FFF Boy and the ending of Ralf as significant in what’s happening with FFF. The site is ten days away from its sixth birthday, and, for me, it’s a good thing that these older things have come to an end. There’s plenty of stuff I want to do with the site: different characters and one-off stories, things that are a bit more complex, and maybe not always happy happy joy joy.

As ever, I’m sat here with a thought bubble over my head: If only I had more time to do it all…

Except someone upstairs is hammering away at something, so the thought bubble is growing redder and the words inside it are changing to “will you bloody stop banging!”

  1. Man, they really should stop the banging. It’s not cool.

Oh, and right now I’m in a cafe near Green Park, on my shiny new PowerBook, enjoying the Flip Flops Flying and Flyin’, listening to LCD Soundsystem, generally living the dream and probably edging closer towards a Nathan Barley-esque persona than I really want to be.

On the other side of some frosted glass, I can see a bright green shirt, the outline of a female face, some white earbuds, and a PowerBook just like mine, but smaller.

I suppose this would be the moment to “get my groove on”.

I don’t think I’m quite cut out for that sort of thing.

  3. Will Ralph and FFF Boy ever meet in their new life? I guess we will never know. Maybe they’ll bump into Bob and then start a new band! Oh, the possibilities… :-)

  6. A soap opera? Good God, no. The thing I’m working on right now is called The Horse Tests. It’s about a lady horse who’s looking for love.
