When I first read your question I thought ‘Of course they do, silly Craig’ But now I’m not so sure. We had a duck that we called ‘Lynford’ as it turned up at our house as Lynford Christie was winning the 100 m at the Barcelona Olympics. It used to sit on our fence and occaisionally excrete stuff from it bottom area. Thinking about it now, the stuff that came out was like a baby’s poo – a loose fluid with sloppy bits of solid. Maybe they don’t separate number 1s and 2s. I don’t know, I’m not a bird expert.

From what I understand, the white part is urine and the dark spots are the feces.

Yeah, birds have only one bottom hole called cloaca, so solids and liquids are evacuated together.

ooh yes, they do. As the others so eloquently put it – it’s a lovely mixture – and it inevidently ends up on my balcony…

It is indeed mixed into one, which explains the watery consistency.
A duck nearly pooed on my shoe a few weeks ago and it was the most huge weepoo you’ll ever see from a bird of that size.
