Flip Flop Flying

Some last little bits re. the football match last Wednesday.

First, I’ve been fiddling around trying to draw a cute-y, toy-ish character style. It’s vaguely Lego-y, I guess, but maybe I’ll do something with them in the future. In the meantime, here’s a few Liverpool players drawn in that style:

Second, a rather minimal FFF does Athens thingy. Minimal mainly because of the gargantuan blog post I wrote a couple of days ago.

And finally, some pie charts. Every time one watches a game of football and the referee seems to make a bunch of bad decisions, it’s easy to spend the next few hours slagging him off, calling him crooked or simply shit at refereeing. I decided to watch the Champions League Final again with a stop watch to see how much time he should have played at the end, rather than the paltry two minutes and forty seconds. I also looked at the decisions he and his linesmen made that were wrong throughout the game, and to see whether they were in favour or against Liverpool or Milan.

Admittedly, the one decision in favour of Liverpool was calling Kaká offside when he wasn’t and was one-on-one with the keeper, but, y’know, I’ve got straws that need clutching, and goats to be scaped, and pudding to be cried into.
