A baseball

I’m enjoying getting to know the non-pixelly parts of Photoshop at the moment, so this kind of still life work is the sort of thing I hope to find myself doing more often. All “painted” with the brush tool, with no use of filters or Photoshoppery. I put the ball on the table next to my mouse mat, and it took about three-and-a-half hours to “paint” (including a pizza break and one trip to the loo for a number one).

  1. You’ve really got some ball(s)! Seriously, though, VERY nice; one can almost smell the fresh horsehide. Beautiful.
    Go Rays??? Go Philly???

  2. Thank you.
Yep, I’ve been carrying it around with me since I was in Oakland.
Go Rays. Any team that knocks the Red Sox around like this is alright by me. Obviously, don’t wanna count my chickens before they’ve hatched, though, but Rays-Phillies should be a cracking series, no?

  3. Yep, very nice Craig. I like the colours.

Only one trip to the loo in 3.5 hours?? Maybe something is wrong with me….

  4. Oops, I think you just jinxed the Rays. Thank you!

  5. Urgh, those last two-and-a-half innings were horrible. I take some small joy from all of those “Fenway Faithful” people leaving after the top of the 7th, but, well, the Rays will see you off back at the Trop. Hopefully.

  6. Beautiful! And that’s all done with the mouse? Just wondering if you’ve ever tried / would consider trying a graphics tablet? I know a few folk who swear by them, even for non-arty computer use…

Love the PS Overlay colour palette too btw, v pleasing :-)
