Flip Flop Flying

Two drawings

without comments

A friend of mine is a journalist, and had to go to a bullfight here in Mexico City yesterday. He asked me if I wanted to go, and because I wanted to do some drawing practice, particularly of crowds – something I have to do more of in the near future – I went along. It’s not the first time I’ve been to a bullfight. I went before in 2008. It was horrific then, and it was horrific again. Here’s a couple of the drawings. Drawings, by the way, are not endorsements.

And before you decide to leave a comment about your views on bullfighting, let me just say: I know what you want to say; I entirely agree with your opinions on bullfighting; and yes, it’s weird mental gymnastics to justify paying to see such things. Normally, I don’t care what people write in the comments, but this is a topic that people like to rant about, and frankly, I can’t be arsed to have that going on, so if you feel like ranting, do it somewhere else, because your rants here will be deleted.
