Not sure where the idea for this came from, but it happened on Saturday afternoon. Actually, it might’ve come from the idea of the negative space in a lowercase Helvetica a looking like a leaf (or bird or whale). But the thought, wherever it came from, was of maybe doing really neat and tidy drawings with as little detail as possible. The rounded corners and simple lowercase Helvetica ended up dictating everything else. Once those two elements were in place on the drawing of the sun, I built a grid and a colour palette and stuck to it. It was an interesting exercise. You can see them all bigger here
