Drawings of Hopkins
A gloriously sleepy town. Yesterday, I put up a bunch of drawings of the sea and sky at Hopkins (link). Here’s some others. You’ll notice the door in the last drawing is kinda wonky. The door itself wasn’t wonky, it’s just my shitty drawing.

Drawings of Placencia
Placencia is a small town at the end of a penisula of the same name. It’s a fairly relaxing place. I enjoyed drawing there.

Drawings of Hickatee Cottages
Hickatee Cottages in Punta Gorda, Belize is one of my favourite places. It’s a great place to spend some time. I spent a fair amount of my time there drawing. Here’s what I did get done.

(There isn’t really a red creature with horns at Hickatee Cottages.)

Hopkins seascapes

I did 32 drawings of the sea and sky, done at various times over four days, when I was in Hopkins, Belize last week. Mostly drawn whilst lying in a hammock. You can see them all here: http://flipflopflyin.com/hopkinsseascapes/index.html
A couple of structures
Last weekend, feeling lazy and enjoying the AC in the hotel room I was in for a couple of nights in Placencia, I was doodling whilst watching telly. I was using the TinyPixels app. Seems like a nice tool to have in your pocket.

View from the living room window

I have quite a nice view from my apartment. It’s fortunate that there area few areas of the view with good kinda passages of low-ish buildings. Looking straight ahead from the apartment affords me a view of the Torre Mayor, Mexico City’s tallest building, and standing to its left, the Estela de Luz.

Some drawings
Here’s a bunch of drawings that I did whilst on a bus to and from Oaxaca this week. I kinda like doing drawings of things viewed from a moving vehicle; stops me getting too bogged down with details. There’s one drawing done of a store in Oaxaca, too. I did that one while drinking a delicious paper cup of coffee, sat in the shadow of a church, hiding from the baking-hot sun. Anyway, here you go.

Cigarette
Day ten today. Things are getting slightly easier. I can feel the iceberg of craving breaking up into small chunks. It’s no longer an all-consuming desire. I went to a club last night where smoking was permitted, and that was kinda difficult. I now very much appreciate the smoking ban concept: it helps.
Anyway, I recently downloaded an app for my pocket device called TinyPixels. Figured I’d give it a go. Seems pretty good. Could do with a larger, more sensitive colour picker, but on the whole, it’s well worth the $1.99.
I drew a picture of my ex-girlfriend, which you can see below. The original (at the bottom) is just 46 x 4 pixels. Quite enjoyed drawing it. Sniff…
